Anti-gun Democrats heap praise on Shirkey

Sep 14, 2019

Dear Fellow Patriot,

Is this what he wanted?

On the same day as the 2019 Second Amendment March, the Detroit News reported that GOP Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey promised to hold hearings on “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation legislation in the near future.

Since then, anti-gun Democrats can hardly contain their excitement, heaping praise upon praise on Sen. Shirkey for promising a hearing for the due process-shredding legislation.

Here’s Senate “Red Flag” bill sponsor Mallory McMorrow gleefully thanking Shirkey:

What exactly was Sen. Shirkey hoping to accomplish in kowtowing to anti-gun Democrats by promising them a hearing on this dangerous legislation?

While pro-gun bills like House Bill 4434 languish in committee, with no promises of a hearing, he’s fanned the flames of anti-gun Democrats in giving them an opening via a committee hearing.

If you recall, House Bill 4434 is a common sense, straight forward bill that prevents CPL holders from going to jail for accidentally failing to renew their CPLs.

It passed with overwhelming bipartisan support in the House of Representatives earlier this year but has yet to receive a single hearing, or promise of a hearing in the Senate.

Instead, Democrat-only sponsored “Red Flag” Senate Bill 156, which is highly controversial, is given Shirkey’s blessing for a hearing.

I don’t know who is advising him, but he’s effectively thrown gun owners under the bus to placate the anti-gun mob that will never support him.

If he keeps this up, we could have a fight on our hands in Lansing.

Stay tuned…
