Tomorrow, the House Judiciary Committee — chaired by Republican State Rep. Sarah Lightner — is holding a hearing on House Bills 4481, 4482, and 4483.
What do these bills do?
They create a new website run by Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office to tell you where your concealed pistol license is recognized in other states.
And House Bill 4483 goes even further — adding a government-controlled QR code to the back of your Concealed Pistol License that links directly to Nessel’s website.
But let’s be clear: our rights don’t come from a government website or a QR code.
The Second Amendment is the law of the land. We don’t need anti-gun politicians like Dana Nessel managing lists of which states “allow” you to exercise your rights.
And while Lansing politicians waste time on these distraction bills, the real fight is being ignored.
Look, nobody asked for these bills.
But gun owners all over the state have been demanding real action from Republicans on repealing gun control, only to be met with crickets or empty promises.
As you know, Republican Representative Jim DeSana introduced a full repeal of Gretchen Whitmer’s “Red Flag” gun confiscation law MONTHS ago — with over two dozen co-sponsors — and Chairwoman Lightner hasn’t given it so much as a hearing.
Every single Republican voted against “Red Flag” in 2023. Yet Republican leadership is now blocking repeal while pushing bills that grow government bureaucracy instead of restoring our freedoms.
Enough is enough.
I need you to take action TODAY.
Call State Rep. Sarah Lightner at (517) 373-1773 and demand that she schedule a hearing on House Bills 4138, 4139, and 4140 — the bills to repeal “Red Flag” gun confiscation — instead of wasting time on these useless Attorney General website and QR code bills.
The fight isn’t about convenience websites or QR codes. It’s about restoring our God-given right to keep and bear arms here in Michigan.
